Obituary for Scott Hollis Baxter, Dallas Morning News

Scott "Scotty" Baxter, beloved son, brother, and friend of many, passed from this life into heaven on September 27, 2005. He died peacefully in his sleep after a long and courageous battle with emphysema.

Scott was born in Dallas on February 9, 1951. He attended Spring Valley Elementary, Richardson Jr. High, and Richardson High School. He played baseball while in high school and continued on to play for the SMU Mustangs. In a family of athletes, he was considered by all to be the best. His love for camping and the outdoors, and his love for animals and his special way with them, was obvious to those who knew him. Scott's fishing trips with his namesake grandfather, Harold M. Scott, were his special joy.

To his friends, he had special qualities that each of them knew and continues to remember. Many of them plan to attend his memorial to share their remembrances. As a brother, he was perceptive, kind and accepting.
